According to Pep Guardiola, the midfielder Kevin de Bruyne tested positive for covid while representing Belgium. He has to isolate for 10 days and will miss the game against Everton.
During his international duty De Bruyne faced Wales and Estonia, and his positive test was confirmed by Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager announced; "Unfortunately, Kevin got a positive test for Covid in Belgium".
Guardiola learned on Wednesday his condition and also said “The human being is more important than anything else. [We have to] be careful because people are still dying. He was vaccinated, so he is more protected. Hopefully, his symptoms will be minor. It isn’t about our rhythm – we want him to be well.”
De Bruyne will not only miss the game against Everton at the Etihad Stadium, but he is also out of the Champions League game against Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday. His teammates Jack Grealish and Phil Foden are both doubts for the game this Saturday with Everton because of injuries representing England.
