Because of the Covid outbreak, the Spurs are suffering, UEFA deemed the game they were supposed to play on December 9th a forfeit, as a result, the result will be a 3-0 victory for Rennes.
With the 3-0 loss, the Spurs have only 7 points in 6 games with 2 wins, a draw, and 3 lost fixtures. That means that they ended up third in their group and are eliminated from the competition.
“To declare the 2021/22 UEFA Europa Conference League group stage match between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Stade Rennais FC, that was initially scheduled to be played on 9 December 2021, as forfeited by Tottenham Hotspur FC, who is therefore deemed to have lost the match 0-3 in accordance with Annex J.3.1 to the Regulations of the UEFA Europa Conference League (2021/22 Season).”
In this competition the first from each group moves on to the next round, the second squad has to move on to a play-off and the last two teams from each group are eliminated.
Tottenham's group was composed of Rennes who ended up first, Vitesse, who will go to the play-offs, and Mura, the last team from the group G. Vitesse will face Rapid Vienna and Leicester City, the only Premier League squad remaining
